Meat Sauce Macaroni
Boasting just the right number of shortcuts, this saucy pasta dish should prove to be a keeper around your house. A tossed green salad is a great beginning.
1/2 pound ground round 1/2 cup commercial pizza sauce 1/8 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon black pepper 1 cup hot cooked elbow macaroni (about 2 ounces uncooked) 2 tablespoons (about 1/2 ounce) shredded reduced-fat sharp cheddar cheese
Cook meat in a small nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until browned, stirring to crumble. Drain. Wipe drippings from pan with a paper towel; return meat to pan. Add sauce, salt, and pepper; cook 2 minutes. Add pasta; cook 2 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Sprinkle each serving with 1 tablespoon cheese.
Yield: 2 servings (serving size: 1 1/4 cups)
